"Shikishu tiles" are tiles manufactured in the Iwami region of Shimane Prefecture. Among clay tiles, they are particularly fired at a high temperature, giving them exceptional durability against freeze and salt damage. They are fired at a particularly high temperature (over 1200 degrees) among ceramic products, which reduces the moisture content in the clay, leading to minimized damage from freeze and salt. Additionally, there are three types available: Japanese-style, flat, and S-shaped, allowing for selection based on preference.
